My 10 little secrets.

1. I'm intensively fickle. What that means is, I will be into something intensively, but there's no way of telling how long I will be interested in whatever it was that took so much of my time. Usually, on one sunny day, I'll be over it. No explanations, I just move on. I honestly can say that there is not one thing in my life that I've liked all my life. Well, besides my family and friends.

2. I hate driving. This is no surprise. But what I hate even more than driving, is driving with people in my car. It's not that I hate giving people rides, but I'm always afraid of an accident and hurting people because of me.

3. I'm mean. I'm actually very mean to my closest friends. I'm so mean, that I actually hurt people some times. I'm really trying to be careful.

4. I drink my coffee black. I like dark chocolate with above 75% cocoa. Recently, I've been really turned off by sweet drinks like juice, and blended coffee drinks.

5. I eat like a dog, in the sense that I eat the same thing over and over and over again. Leftovers are my fave. More specifically, cold leftovers are awesome in my book.

6. I'm ridiculously lazy when it comes to eating. I don't like really spicy food because eating something and thinking it's spicy at the same time is tiring. When I eat a sandwich, I really value that everything in the sandwich be the same consistency. I don't like it when I have to chew extra for one thing in a sandwich. This is why I like creamy peanut butter.

7. Despite my general laziness with eating, I'm also a budding foodie. I say I don't like things, but there is nothing that I can't and won't eat.

8. I don't like watching movies in the theatres. I usually only watch about 1 or 2 movies a year in the theatres. I should go more often... I guess.

9. I have more things that I don't like then things I like. I'd like to change that.

10. I'm pretty happy right now.

Those are 10 of my little idiosyncrasies. Tell me yours! I will personally tag Carmen, because she's the only one that I know of that has Blogger. Plus, she's pretty specific.

delirious

I'm delirious because it's late, but I'm sticking to my guns when I say that I'm going to make this a regular habit.

This will be a BLAarrrrg instead of a blog, though. I can't think of anything and I'm sleepy. But work is good, and it's keeping me sane because I like it and I love the people I work with.

My main issue with work has been how to handle people who just can't function in society. They may not have a definable disability or disorder to get them some sort of government aid, but they just can't do what "normal" people are supposed to do. Mainly, they just can't take care of themselves in one way or another. My constant battle with these people has been to help them in the long run while not getting irritated or frustrated with them. At the moment, it's an uphill battle. But I am determined. I'm determined to make the right assessment and succeed.

My main release of stress has been my iPod. I am currently addicted to the NPR podcast, namely Fresh Air. I love working out while listening to it. In addition, Alejandro Sanz and Shakira's "Te Lo Agradezco, Pero No" has been on HEAVY HEAVY rotation as well. I just LURRRRVE that song. Every morning, I listen to the Spanish radio station to kind of get into the mode of speaking Spanish (which I won't need any more because my Spanish speaking clients have been reduced....sad) and it makes my day when this song comes on.

Oh, about the reduction of Spanish clients... Well, due to changes in the office (namely staff leaving) people have been shifted around to fill the gaps. I've been transfered to work more with senior citizens, and the main group of people we serve are Japanese speaking ones. They need more Japanese speaking and writing staff, so... here I am. I'm going to at least keep listening to Spanish radio, though, because it will at least be some form of practice.

I'm admittedly sad about the change, though. I was doing alright with my old job. I'm enjoying my new job as well, but... Spaanissshhh!!! Que me hablen en espanol!! No quiero dejarloooooooooooooo. Si tu hablas espanol, dejame comentarios en espanol, para que yo pueda comunicar de alguna manera. Te lo digo en serio, porque si no... voy a llorar. Llorare tanto, tanto hasta que te sientes culpable. No quieres hacerme dano, verdad? No lo creo. Nope!

Roomies.

Peter: You're the devil woman.
Me: Yeah, I am the devil woman, but I'm considerate with manners.
Peter: Yeah that's why you're the devil woman, and not The Devil.

Girls are so funny.. and CRAZY

There was an email that had to be written to a guy, and it took 3 girls to think of 2 sentences to make it just right. I mean, the 2 sentences were pretty perfect, I must say. But damn. We exercise a different part of the brain, I'm tellin you.

It's kind of funny and infuriating to think about how crazy we get with saying the right thing. But at the same time, it's good to know that we value communication, right?

That's it for tonight.

I told you I'd write again.

Here are some pictures of my new bedroom:
Grown up bed!! That photo behind me (jumping on my bed) is a picture my grandfather took in the late 60's when he moved to New York for a couple of years. It's a beautiful picture of a skyscraper and one of my favorite things that I "own". It's actually not officially mine (yet) but we'll see. I schlepped it from Tokyo when we found it in my grandfather's old apartment after he passed away. Isn't it purrrrty?

One of my favorite new things that I've bought. A tree to hang things. It's from Ikea, which means that everyone my age probably owns one. I can say that 2/3 of the necklaces I own were given to me by either my grandma or my great-aunt. What can I say, I like big flashy things. I do I do.

That's all for now!!!

It's a change, I swear.

It has been some time, hasn't it?

What has happened since I made M&M version of my friends... well, I moved. I think I told you guys about it before. I moved in with my friend P and so far, it's been great! I feel bad some times, because half the time he has found me passed out on the couch. But we've both been working so much that there hasn't been much down time for the either of us. Most of my days are already filled with meetings and appointments, and all of my weekends are filled for the next couple of weeks. It's ccraaazzyy, I tell you. I've hated it, but I'm never bored, and I think I like it. Now, I do. I do, I do.

I also made a brief visit up north with my sister, to visit our brother. He lives in the middle of no where, but no where is right next to the coast, which makes everything pretty livable. I went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and luurrrved it. It was the first time that I was that excited about entering an area where animals are in a confined space. The aquarium was HUGE and they had educational portions about ocean preservation. I couldn't help but be savage half the time, though, because I often found myself thinking how good the fish would taste when I was watching them swimming around. Mmmm. Shame.
He also briefly took us to a college party, which was like a flash back and a good reminder that I am well past that stage of kegs. There was a man there who graduated from college the year I was born, and I knew then that it was time for me to go. We went home and watched Little Miss Sunshine instead, which was such a good movie!!
All in all, Broham was a good host, and he deserves a nice pat on the head. Or, I suppose, back to sound less condescending. Good job, Louie. Mickie, send me the pictures, because I'm camera-sad at the moment, remember?

In other news, I've decided to make an active effort (as opposed to a passive one) to update and get in a habit of writing more often. I haven't been doing any kind of writing besides reports and work-related documents, and it'll be a good way for me to look back on what I had done during my days. I promise to not do a day-to-day report on dumb shit, though, because.. well, who cares, right?

Tomorrow is the LA Marathon!!! I'm going to go watch it because my work place is part of the last mile and I know several people who are running it this year. I'm excited to watch some fast Kenyans and Russians.

Perhaps, some day I'll post some photos of my new apartment. Some day, as in when my camera is fixed. Sad face.
